Surah 112 · 4 verses

Al-Ikhlas

الإخلاص

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

1

قُلْ هُوَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَدٌ

Say, "He is Allāh, [who is] One,

Interpretation

Say, O Messenger: He is Allah who is alone in being a deity. There is no deity except Him.

ٱللَّهُ ٱلصَّمَدُ

Allāh, the Eternal Refuge.

Interpretation

He is the master to whom belongs all sovereignty and perfect, beautiful qualities. The one to whom all creation turn to.

لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ

He neither begets nor is born,

Interpretation

The one who did not give birth to anyone, nor did anyone give birth to Him. So He has no offspring - may He be glorified - nor any parent.

وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُۥ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌۢ

Nor is there to Him any equivalent."
