Al-Infitar
الإنفطار
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنفَطَرَتْ
When the sky breaks apart
Izas samaaa'un fatarat

When the sky will split apart because of the angels descending from it.

وَإِذَا ٱلْكَوَاكِبُ ٱنتَثَرَتْ
And when the stars fall, scattering,

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ ٱلْكَرِيمِ
O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous,
Yaaa ayyuhal insaaanu maa gharraka bi Rabbikal kareem

O man who has rejected his Lord! What has made you go against the instruction of your Lord when He gave you respite and did not punish you quickly, as a favour from Him?!

ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّىٰكَ فَعَدَلَكَ
Who created you, proportioned you, and balanced you?
Allazee khalaqaka fasaw waaka fa'adalak

The One Who gave you existence after you were non-existent, and Who proportioned and balanced your limbs.

فِىٓ أَىِّ صُورَةٍ مَّا شَآءَ رَكَّبَكَ
In whatever form He willed has He assembled you.
Feee ayye sooratim maa shaaa'a rakkabak

In whatever form He wished to create you, He created you. He favoured you as He did not create you in the form of a donkey, monkey, dog or other form.

كَلَّا بَلْ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِٱلدِّينِ
No! But you deny the Recompense.
Kalla bal tukazziboona bid deen

وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحَـٰفِظِينَ
And indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers,

وَإِنَّ ٱلْفُجَّارَ لَفِى جَحِيمٍ
And indeed, the wicked will be in Hellfire.

يَصْلَوْنَهَا يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ
They will [enter to] burn therein on the Day of Recompense,

And never therefrom will they be absent.

يَوْمَ لَا تَمْلِكُ نَفْسٌ لِّنَفْسٍ شَيْـًٔا ۖ وَٱلْأَمْرُ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلَّهِ
It is the Day when a soul will not possess for another soul [power to do] a thing; and the command, that Day, is [entirely] with Allāh.
Yawma laa tamliku nafsul linafsin shai'anw walamru yawma'izil lillaah

A day when no one will be able to benefit anyone. The entire matter on that day will belong to Allah alone, to deal as He wishes, and not to anyone besides Him.
