Al-Inshiqaq
الإنشقاق
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنشَقَّتْ
When the sky has split [open]
Izas samaaa'un shaqqat

When the sky ruptures because of the angels descending from it.

وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ

O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it.
Yaaa ayyuhal insaanu innaka kaadihun ilaa Rabbika kad han famulaaqeeh

O man, you are either doing good or evil and you will meet it on the Day of Judgment, so that Allah can give you the recompense for that.

فَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِىَ كِتَـٰبَهُۥ بِيَمِينِهِۦ
Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand,
Fa ammaa man ootiya kitaabahoo biyameenih

Since Allah mentioned man’s action in brief, he details the condition of those who did action on the day of judgment by saying: As for him who is given his book of deeds in his right hand.

فَسَوْفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابًا يَسِيرًا
He will be judged with an easy account

And return to his people in happiness.

Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness;

Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allāh].

فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلشَّفَقِ
So I swear by the twilight glow
Falaaa uqsimu bishshafaq

So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe,

But those who have disbelieved deny,

فَبَشِّرْهُم بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ
So give them tidings of a painful punishment,

Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted.
Illal lazeena aamanoo wa 'amilus saalihaati lahum ajrun ghairu mamnoon

Except those who have faith in Allah and do good deeds, for them is a reward that will never terminate: Paradise.
